Causes mouth cancer or Risk increasers. The definite reason behind mouth cancer selection in hitting some people and sparing others is not known.

But, the risk factors make it more liable for a category of people to develop the disease and are always present in mouth cancer patients.

Here is a list:

1) The use of tobacco
- This is the number one risk factor for head and neck cancer development and the different type of mouth cancer.

Tobacco usage through the mouth in any kind of form, it can be chewed or smoked becomes a risk increaser in due time.

Even in children using dipping tobacco as simulation to popular baseball athletes inherit or have gotten mouth cancer.

The more use of tobacco over an extended period of time is greater the chance to contract mouth cancer.

When a user quits smoking or chewing tobacco, the risk drops close to normal over a 5 to 10 years time

2) The use of alcohol- This is the second to none stronger risk factor to tobacco use.

Wine and beer drinkers are not as high a risk as frequent strong beverages drinkers like whiskey, cognac or gin who have a very high potential to increase cancer risk to the mouth, oesophagus, stomach, throat and pancreas.

On top of that, mixing alcohol with tobacco will add greatly to your cancer risk for all pre-cited areas.

This means that the risk has more than doubled if tobacco or alcohol were used alone.

Quit drinking will automatically and gradually lower your cancer risk just as close as those who do not take alcoholic drinks at all.

3) Poor mouth hygiene. Grime cause constant mouth irritation usually when it is uncleaned.

1 billion of bacteria is the approximative evaluation of a spoonful of saliva which is the market of waste products, known in dentistry as plaque that sticks to teeth.

Plaque causes the development of gum disease named pryorrhea that will also bring subsequent tooth loss.

Plaque itself does not cause cancer but it helps other chemicals found in smoke for example to cling to the mouth and start irritation that is a stimulation for the cells to divide.

The more the cells divide, the more chance happen that one of them will become bad meaning cancerous.

The common thread factor of multiple risk factors is irritation that leads the cells to act funny and to split.

4) Badly fit dentures excite the gum line or gingiva and collect debris that can lead to mouth cancer over period of time.

5) Chewing betel-nut in the Indian population, along with irritation which is a common factor, is powerfully associated with tooth loss and mouth cancer.

6) Syphilis and other infectious viruses can lead to cancer in some period of time, they cause poorly healed mouth lesions.

The try to constantly heal these sores lead to chronic division of the cell that widen the chance to get cancer.

Viruses can enter the mouth cells and make a change in the genes to form a sick cell which is none other than a cancer cell.

The oncogene activation is the name given to this elaborate process.

7) Weak immunity like AIDS or transplant anti-rejection drugs will add the cancer risks from the aero-digestive meaning from the nose and mouth area to the lungs and stomach.

Cancer history of the aero-digestive tract mean an average of 5% chance of a simultaneous cancer separation and a 25% chance of directly developing another type of cancer in the same area over time if the smoking risk persists.

As you already know this is one of causes mouth cancer.
