DENTAL ABCESS
Dental
abcess, occurs in a dead tooth. You find in the
center of any tooth a hollow pulp chamber in which there are
nerves and blood vessels supply.
More
often, the pulp occurs to die because a deep filling
realized where caries come into or close to the pulp
chamber, or following a severe impact to the tooth in the
past.
Now the dead
tissues become perfect foods for bacteria and the dental organ
is unable to protect itself because there no
circulation.
In dental
infection, you have bacteria that live in the center of
the tooth and produce waste products (dead white blood
cells, or pus) that exert pressure on neighboring tissues
of the tooth.
Bacteria
will continue to invade surrounding tissues and bone
causing facial swelling.
So,
the pain of an abcess is the consequence of pressure produced
on surrounding tissues by inflammation.
That
can arrive, if the infection has grown slowly and gradually,
you can not to feel pain over
time. But,
there are some people who are tender to pain or for some
of them where the pain is very
excruciating.
Symptoms
Frequent
symptoms of dental abcess are extreme pain that doesn’t
happen with cold but often is reduced by
cold.
It is
important to underline that the nerves tissue should be
dead before having the abcess. Tooth will not feel cold after its dead
and its infection. Thus, you can realize the experience
by placing a piece of ice on a dead and abcess tooth you
don’t receive a response.
But in
the other side because of dead tissues that produce not
only gas inside the tooth but also increasing the
pressure to cause pain.Treating earlier your diseased
tooth is the best.
With
a periapical abscess
1the pain increases when
eating or chewing. Your
dentist can tap on the teeth and the one that is diseased will
be more painful. During
the checkup, people more often say: Ha a a “that’s the one”
when it is probed.
Moreover before treating any patient your
dentist should have a complet information about you to see if
you don't suffer from other disease like heart, lung, or
autoimmune disease.
An X-ray
will come to show a dark area at the end of the tooth
root in the bone indicating the normal tissue that is
pushed out by inflammation.
Ultimately,
a pus sac has been created in the bone and can not be
ruptured before it becomes mature.
You have to know that it is
different also from cyst.
The
latter represents a sac full of fluid. Some of them form
around teeth or next to and are called dental
cysts.
They are
a reaction of the body and are relatively slow
growing.
When the
diagnosis is confirmed to save the teeth or tooth, your
dentist may offer you a root canal treatment.
Ordinary
a dental abcess can not heal by itself. The swollen part
can be ruptured to facilitate the pus to be released.
Some complications ask dental emergency same
day.
So
antibiotic, in a short time, will help. The antibiotic
like amoxicillin 500 mg four times a day will give good
solution.
For a
baby with dental abcessed, the treatment is the same. The
dentist may practise a baby root canal
pulpotomy or pulpectomy.
You can
always decide to keep you teeth in place by keeping
contact with your dentist to treat any dental
abcess.
