Dentures, what are they? When do you wear a denture? How do dentures work? How are dentures devised?

Partial dentures can be made of a metal frame work base that is fixed on your natural teeth.

Some partial dentures have crowns placed one neighboring teeth and help as anchors. They represent a removable alternative to bridges.

Traditional full denture: this type of denture is designed for persons that don’t have any remaining teeth. The gum tissues have thoroughly healed.

After tooth extraction this healing takes about two to three months and while this time your mouth will not have teeth.

Immediate or same day denture

When the last teeth are removed, your dentist will place an immediate full denture in your mouth.

In order to occur to immediate preparation, some measurements must be taken will before. Then, some models of your jaw are prepared to allow a good final result.

As immediate advantage, these dentures offer you the benefit of having always teeth in your mouth but very often they will need to be relined after being inserted.

During all first days or weeks, you don’t feel well with your new dentures.

We have to pay your attention on the fact that saliva production will increase while this period and the feeling that your tongue is too tight ( not enough room) in its position.

Moreover, little soreness or irritation are not unusual. You can always see your dentist for other corrections.
