Mouth
Bacteria, are they all harmful or good ? What
are the different types of bacteria found
in the mouth?
Usually, there are many microbes that live
in the human mouth. The first microbes inhabit your
mouth, when you produced your first yelling, immediately
after your birth.
That means before your
birth, your mouth was without microbes (sterile). With the time
many micro organisms come to colonize the oral cavity such as:
bacteria-fungi-viruses-protozoa.
All those categories grow in peace,
if there is no severe pathology that comes to trouble this
balance. Each area in the oral cavity may be colonized by
special species of microbes.
Certain of bacteria content in human
mouth prefer live in the spaces between gums and teeth, between
the teeth, on the roof of the mouth or just in the cracks in
the front or in the back of the tongue.
They eat food debris which become lodged in
parts of your mouth.
We can mention different types of bacteria
found in mouth and known as harmful such as:
streptococcus mutants-the lactobacilli. They cause
tooth decay and even the loss of
teeth.
It is always recommended to brush, floss and
use mouthwash which have good effects on bacteria every
day to maintain safe the mouth.
Moreover, you have to control the amount
sugar that you take every day for not to allow bacteria
to find what to transform into acids to attack teeth.
When you use your dental floss to clean
inter dentally spaces, you dislodge food debris which maybe
colonized by bacteria and release bad odor. Remember
every time you open your mouth, new bacteria come to
inhabit.
Researches showed that streptococcus mutants
and lactobacilli content in the human mouth were not so
harmful. They grow and protect also the area. Thus, they have
good effects in mouth.
But with the time by the new lifestyle that
people possess where they use more refining products, those
bacteria became their enemy.
Before this tendency toward refining foods,
people lived for a long time with their teeth.
The teeth might undergo abrasion or
attrition, but they are not so decayed as it is the case
today. In the saliva, there are ions bicarbonate that repair
damage caused to teeth.
Now because of excessive use of refining
sugar which is good for the digestive system of bacteria, the
saliva does not arrive to repair at time the damage. Therefore
the teeth can be easily attacked by microbes.
In the human mouth there are more than 100
species of bacteria, hundreds of species of fungi, protozoa and
viruses that grow normally and are difficult to understand.
It reveals important for any body to keep
clean his mouth to avoid plaque can build up along your gum
line and release bad odor.
The accumulation of plaque may cause
gingivitis which is the mildest form of gum diseases. Left untreated, the
gingivitis may lead to periodontal diseases.
One of the more severe form of gum diseases
is the acute necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis, called also
trench mouth. The saliva plays a
protector role.
It maintains the balance in the buccal area
by its enzymes that destroy bacteria.
Generally bacteria don’t enter the blood
system unless you traumatize constantly your gum with the
toothbrush or the floss.
If your immune system is not weak, the
presence of these bacteria in you blood system is not
harmful.
But the National Institute of dental and
Cranio Facial Research thinks that as many as 18 percent of
preterm, low birth weight babies born in the U.S.A each year
may be related to oral infection.
It estimated that mouth bacteria release
toxins, which interfere with the growth and development of the
fetus through placenta by mother’s bloodstream.
That arrives at the same time, the mother’s
mouth infection stimulates the production of labor triggering
substances too fasts, greatly triggering premature labor and
birth.
It is more than necessary for every one to
have a good oral hygiene to protect itself against
bacteria.
A lot of bacteria are normal resident of
your mouth a bad hygiene or a severe disease can disturb the
balance causing health problem.
Even your baby needs attention about
bacteria from baby's mouth in pumped milk. See your dentist
for regular cleanup every six mouth to protect yourself from
mouth bacteria.
