Root Canal
therapy
Root canal
therapy, when is it recommended? Why does your
dentist advices you to start a root canal treatment
instead of an extraction?
Occasionally, that is recommended when the
dental pulp is infected by microorganism following
tooth decay left untreated or is
injured severely.
At this step there is no
really alternative treatment,if no the tooth extraction because some
inflammation and or infection is already inside or below the
tooth which can cause abscessed tooth
later.
To occur to eliminate the infection and save
the tooth, the dentist needs to remove the infected pulp by
root canal procedure.
All the hollow are cleaned, filled with an
inert material and sealed up to avoid failure of root
canal treatment. Sometimes a crown maybe required to protect
the treated tooth.
Why a root canal
therapy?
Many people, sometimes have choice to make
extract their painful tooth rather than to treat it.
Maybe this is the more simple solution and
least expensive in comparison to having root canal treatment
performed.
Perhaps, if you had a dental
insurance, the work would be easier.
Frequently, when a tooth is extracted
because it was infected by microorganism. The neighboring teeth
will tend to move toward free espace.
That situation can have a great consequence
on your dental health and other mouth structure (jaw
joint).
A bad extraction disturbs easily your
chewing ability, causes the opposite tooth to be decayed by
food debris retention.
After a longer time, jaw problems may
appear, this why it is recommended to see your dentist each six
month to prevent abscessed tooth, to replace any extracted
tooth.
The dentist will use artificial teeth or
implant to perform that.Ordinary dental works are not cheap and
ask to be supported by a dental insurance company.
At present day outside root canal treatment
there is no alternative treatment to save abscessed tooth.
so, the decision to extract a tooth has to
be carefully discussed with your dentist to explore all of
advantages and disadvantages of several restoration
possibilities which are available to you.
It will be more advantageous for you after
to protect the treated tooth to avoid failure of root canal
treatment.
This work may last very much if you take
care of your teeth to prevent gum disease, protect your root canal
therapy.
